You can breathe a sigh of relief as the two new shades: 'Tapage' (605) and 'Charivari' (603) will join the permanent line!  :D  The third, called 'Ballerina' (167) (not featured here - sorry!) is a repromoted shade and also happens to be the very first Chanel nail polish I ever purchased.  So, it has quite a sentimental value.  :)  It's a beautiful, sheer, but buildable pale baby pink.  Great for that polished, "no nail polish" look, and can be used to create a traditional French manicure.

Colours
'Charivari' is my favourite of the two is described as a "soft purple/mauve".  To me, it's more of a deep, dusky purple with a cream finish.  My kinda shade. ^_^  I love purple, purple taupe, grey/blue-toned lavender nails - I find they suit my olive skin tone very well.  However, the gorgeous, earthy tone of 'Charivari' will suit many skin tones.
'Tapage' is a very bright candy, pink red - also with a cream finish.  It makes my summer tan stand out even more and the contrast of this shade takes a little getting used to for me when applied on my finger nails.  It's a great summer shade though, and I can imagine it would be especially flattering on those with fairer, "peaches and cream" type of skin tone who naturally look great with peaches and corals. ;)  I will definitely still wear this - mostly on my toe nails as bright nail polishes tend to look great on toes in the summer/spring.

Application
Both shades apply easily and evenly on the nails as with most Chanel nail polishes.  The consistency is just right - not to thin or thick.  They both look best with full coverage in two coats, although you could get away with a single thick coat of 'Tapage' if you were in a rush.  (Two coats is best though if you want better longevity). ;)

I found most Chanel nail polishes to last up to a week on my nails with minor tip wear.

Swatches
I applied two coats of each nail polish with no base or top coat.  I applied 'Tapage' on my ring finger as an accent colour, and the rest in 'Charivari'.  For reference, I currently have olive tanned skin (~NC35) and the swatches were photographed indoors using a strobe.  'Charivari' appears much deeper - almost black in the photo below, but its lighter, dusky purpleness is much more evident in daylight.  The Pointless Cafe and The Beauty Lookbook have swatches of these in daylight.
Overall
I'm pleased that both are unique in my collection.  Application is faultless and what I expect from Chanel.  If I had to choose between the two shades, I'd say 'Charivari'!

Hope this was helpful.

Thanks for visiting! ^_^ xo
