About
I'd describe this new product range as a hybrid of a lipstick and lipgloss.  The concept and texture reminds me a little of the YSL Glossy Stains, but they're not quite the same. The latter is much thinner in texture - almost watery, and is a hybrid of a lip stain and (after three layers) a full-colour lip gloss. The Dior Addict Fluid Sticks are definitely a lot thicker and has an obvious waxy and slightly tacky feel.  Although the Dior website does state that it "does not contain wax, but a water for maximum lightness...", so I'm not sure what ingredient attributes to the waxy feel of it.   They're also more pigmented similar to a lipstick.  It takes a bit of getting used to for me, because I've been riding on the matte, satin, balm-like lippy bandwagon for some time, and slippery, smooth lip glosses of late.   It's not gloopy though like the lip glosses of the 90s - but, I'm sure if you layered too much, you will get that horrible effect! It actually does not take much to apply - a little goes a long way. Anymore than two layers then you'll notice it will be too thick and too tacky and you will see this as you talk (not the look anyone wants to see). This is not your typical "lightweight" lip product that is so popular these days. You can definitely feel it. It's heavier, it hugs the lips and it forms a barrier on the lips.  The waxy, tacky texture works to a great advantage.  It actually helps keep the colour in tact for much longer than your average lipstick or lipgloss.

I can never be bothered to apply a lipstick followed by a layer of lipgloss on top as much as I enjoy the look. So, I usually choose highly pigmented lip glosses so I can get the benefit of full colour (like a lipstick) and the glossy finish in the one product and single application. However, this new Dior Addict Fluid Sticks are a great alternative and also has the benefit of a much longer wear time than lip glosses or lipstick with a lip gloss.

Packaging
The packaging is similar to the existing Dior lip glosses, but it has a 'V' shaped bottom on the inside the tube, and only the bottom third is clear so you can see exactly which colour fluid stick it is.  Also, this one has a doe-foot applicator rather than brush.
The doe-foot applicator has a slight curve to fit nicely on the natural curve of the lips.
Colours & Pigmentation
There are currently 16 shades available.  I chose 'Kiss Me' (389) and 'Magique' (479).  Upon application,'Kiss Me' applies paler and more white-based than I'd like for my olive, tanned skin (~NC35) and blue-toned, pigmented lips.  However, as you work it in by rubbing your lips together it soon settles into a wearable, every day, baby pink shade.  I love it!  I find I can build it to an almost opaque coverage before applying too much that it becomes too tacky).  This is fine as it just covers my natural pigmentation to give an even distribution of colour.  'Magique' is a gorgeous, bright guava pink shade.  Being darker than 'Kiss me', it has a semi-opaque to full coverage.  I'm sure it will be a popular shade in the range.

Swatches
 Very glossy.
Very pigmented.

On My Lips...
I applied two coats.
'Magique'
'Kiss Me'

Application
After applying, I usually, rub my lips together to ensure the pigment gets into all the crevices of the lips so it lasts longer and applies evenly.  After a second thin layer, I dab any excess off gently with a clean finger.

Longevity
After about four hours and eating and drinking during that period, my lips are left with still a decent stain of colour - the waxiness doesn't really wear off, which I guess is why the colour is still there!  Like a lipstick/lip gloss, you will find some of it comes off when you're drinking out of a glass/cup.  If you're fussy - use a straw. ;-)  Still, it has pretty good longevity, and I love how the colour wears well and fades evenly unlike most lipsticks alone.

Scent
Subtle, sweet scent - very pleasant to me. :)  No taste when you lick your lips, which is good.

RRP & Size
AU$50 for 5.5 ml / 0.18 fl.oz.

Availability
New permanent range.  Available now in Australia at Dior counters in David Jones and Myer department stores.

Verdict
This is a great product for people like me who prefer quick, easy application and low to zero maintenance throughout the day.  If you can acquaint yourself with the tacky texture, you will enjoy this as much as I do. :) The hard part is choosing the colour!

Hope this was helpful.

Thanks for visiting! ^_^ xo
