FRIDAY BEAUTY PICKS

Yay, Friday's here! ^_^  Hope you guys have had a good week.  If you follow me on Instagram (thank you ;) ), you will notice I often post my beauty selections for the day/evening.  I do enjoy sharing those, so hopefully you like them!  Today, I thought I'd share them with you here and on IG. ;)

Today's beauty picks are primarily inspired by the beautiful blue hues from this season's J.Crew catalog.  The star of my selections is the new Sisley Phyto 4 Ombres Eyeshadow Quartet in 'Mystery' (2).  This palette is a limited edition for Spring 2015.  If you've followed my blog long enough (again thank you if you have!), you'll know I love me some blue eye shadow, so of course, I could not resist the gorgeousness and intensity of the blue (and grey!) in this palette.  It's exorbitantly expensive, but oh, so utterly divine.  I shall endeavour to do a post on it soon if time permits!  And, for the blackest eye liner I have, which doesn't budge, fade or tug - I used Marc Jacobs mini Highliner Gel Crayon in 'Blacquer' (swatched and reviewed here).  For lashes, I used my current fave mascara - Benefit They're Real! and the Burberry Effortless Eyebrow Definer in Ash Brown (No. 03) to fill-in any sparse areas in my brows (latter two products not pictured).

For lips and cheeks, I've chosen muted, soft pinks with a slight mauve undertones.  The pink gives my olive skin a bit of life, yet it's subtle enough to not clash with the strong, smokey eye, which is the focus of the look.  For cheeks, I used Jardin de Chanel (Camelia Rose) Blush - also, a limited edition for spring.  The design of the powder is so pretty and contrary to my initial belief, this has great pigmentation and does show up with no problems on my medium, olive (~NC30) skin tone.  For lips, I've been loving Chanel Rouge Allure lipstick in Séduisante (91) - a gorgeous, easy-to-wear everyday lipstick.

For base, I used By Terry Cellularose Brightening CC Lumi-Serum as skincare/primer for a glowing effect and my long-time, go-to foundation - By Terry Cover-Expert.

For fragrance, Diptyque's L'Ombre dans l'Eau was my pick.  I think it's such a beautiful fragrance, especially for the current transitional weather we're experiencing this autumn (or spring if you're on the other side of the woods). It smells of "Blackcurrant leaves, Bulgarian roses - Reminiscent of a walk in an English garden, filled with Bulgarian rose petals and leaves of the blackcurrant bush. The scent of sap graciously freshens up this idyllic and rural escapade."

I'm off to dinner and to see a film tonight with the husband, so I think this whole look with the smokey, intense blue eyeshadow will be perfect for the night out. ;)

Have a wonderful Friday and a fun-filled weekend! ^_^ xo
