The new Spring 2016 Chanel colour "L.A. Sunrise" collection has started to trickle its way into select Chanel counters in across Australia!  And, I love this timing, because although it may still be mid-winter in the northern hemisphere, it's mid-summer down-under and it's exciting and enjoyable to be able to wear the new bright, happy colours of spring/summer.  Yay, for somewhat being in synch! ;-)  Here's the story behind the collection and a sneak peek of my picks.

"Discover a colour collection that reveals the vibrant mood of an endless Los Angeles summer. Flashes of purple, teal and green capture the city’s carefree spirit, while a dreamy spectrum of pink, coral and raspberry shades evoke the California morning skies."

// Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow in Tissé Beverly Hills (262) [limited edition]

// Nail Gloss in Sunrise Trip (683) [limited edition]
Dark purple gel-like fluid texture with high-shine, gloss.

// Rouge Coco Shine in Mighty (116)
Fuchsia hydrating colour lip shine.

// Rouge Coco Shine in Energy (118)

// Illusion D'Ombre in Moonlight Pink (118)  [limited edition]

// Illusion D'Ombre in Ocean Light (122)
Bright blue long-wear cream luminous eye shadow.

// Stylo Yeux Waterproof in Fervent Blue (924)
Bright blue long-lasting waterproof eye liner.

Being a lover of bright shades, I really do love this collection even if it seems to have a sort of '80s vibe to it (hehe!) and just could not resist picking up several items. >_< I would have loved to pick up the Illusion D'Ombre in Griffith Green (126) as well. I know it's green and I'm usually averse to it, but this one is actually bright and fun yet wearable, especially if you anchor it with a neutral shade and to add depth (great for a summer evening out).  The brightness of it adds freshness and doesn't accentuate the green undertone of my olive skin, but really makes my brown eyes stand out.   I tried this on in store and walked around all day in it.  I'm not sure, I may just have to go back and get it... aaaarggghhh!  But, the SA have told me that this shade is new and permanent so I won't need to rush.  Apparently only the Moonlight Pink shade is limited editionIllusion D'Ombre.  I have noticed that all the shades on the Chanel U.S. site indicate they are limited, so either the information I've been given is incorrect, has changed, or differs between countries.  If anyone knows for sure, do let me know in the comments below.  Either way, please do consult with your local Chanel counter to confirm! I wouldn't want you to miss out on any of the items!!

I managed to swatch a lot of the items in the collection in store including a few that I didn't purchase, so I will share these with you along with more photos and my reviews of each of the items I purchased as soon as possible.  Stay tuned!

What do you think of this collection?  Any that take your fancy?
