Introducing the latest Burberry makeup launch and following the "makeup pen" trend of the year: Burberry Full Kisses Lip Pens.  I think these would have to be one of my most exciting releases so far this year and not just because of the fact that it's from one of my top beauty brands or that it's a pen style packaging, but the actual lip product itself is really quite impressive!  But...firstly, let's pause for a moment and appreciate the exquisite and lush packaging that Burberry have done (photographed above).  *sigh*
In keeping with the Burberry makeup line, the Full Kisses Lip Colour Pens have a sleek, modern, gunmetal finish and their iconic check pattern on the caps. The pens are chubby in comparison to say the Chanel Rouge Coco Stylo Pens (reviewed here) and are more closer in size to the Clinique Chubby Sticks, but a tad shorter.  To dispense the product you simply twist the bottom of the pen.

Above left is Rosehip (No. 537) and right is Lilac (No. 541).

The Burberry Full Kisses Lip Colour formula is designed to deliver full coverage in one stroke and have a long-lasting power of up to eight hours.  These give a luminous finish to the lips.  After testing these out, I can concur!  Even after eating a saucy pasta dish for dinner, I still had a decent stain left behind when I wore Lilac (this one lasted from morning til I took it off before bed time!).  So good!  I would suspect the deep or bright shades such as this would have particularly longer longevity.  These feel very substantial on the lips as if they're hugging them (unlike the Chanel Rouge Coco Stylo which are much more lightweight).  My lips feel comfortable and richly moisturised while they're on and even afterwards.  Rosehip felt creamy, while Lilac seemed to look and feel a little more juicy. :)
Rosehip (No. 537)
Rosehip is a beautiful, warm, mid-tone, rose pink.  I often have trouble wearing this type of neutral shade as they can sometimes be a touch too light for my medium to tan, olive skin tone (~NC30-35), but this one is just perfect.  I love that it has enough brightness to add a little bit of colour to my lips despite it still being fairly neutral (aka an "MLLB" look).  This helps to lift my entire complexion, which is otherwise dull, and make me look more alive (i.e., "no I didn't just stay awake for most of the night with baby and the flu" look).  This one is excellent for every day or the office.
The shape of the lipstick is unique as it's slanted to fit the shape of the lips and it's straight/flat at the ends to help give precise application along the lip lines/edges.

Lilac (No. 541)
Lilac is a very pretty, bright orchid/purple pink.  Definitely my colour.  My favourite of all lip colours.  I have plenty already, but I couldn't let this one escape me. >_<  It looks great on cool-toned folks and even more smashing on those with medium to tanned olive skin tones.
On My Lips...
I have naturally blue-based pigmented lips especially along the upper lip outline, but these covered it all up - applying smoothly and with even colour coverage.  For reference, these were applied directly onto the lips straight from the bullet with no primer or lip pencil.

Overall
There have been plenty of lipsticks from various brands released - all great, but this one would have to be an absolute stand out.  If you are overwhelmed by the choice, definitely look no further!  There are currently ten shades to choose from ranging from neutral nudes, to brights and deep dark colours - such as Dewberry (a dark plum), which I'm so tempted by!  Overall, I'd say this is one of the most impressive product launches of 2016.  Great packaging and formula with impressive pigmentation and wear-time.  Must-try!

Availability
Available now from Burberry.com which ship to Australia via express and it's free(!) along with the most gorgeous packaging ever! ^_^
