TOM FORD SUMMER 2013 MINI REVIEW & SWATCHES: CREAM COLORS FOR EYES AND LIP LACQUER

Tom Ford Lip Lacquer in 'Pink Lust' is a limited edition from the summer 2013 collection.
It comes packaged in a tube, which is quite convenient so you can easily squeeze out the product to the very last drop so there's no wastage.  The applicator itself is also plastic so it's hygienic (just wipe it clean after use), and is angled for easy application.

'Pink Lust' is a light peachy pink with golden pearl.  If you apply sheerly the micro-shimmers can give a pretty, glistening effect to the lips that's very summer-appropriate.  More layering can give a more frosted finish.

Above: swatched on my medium, olive (~NC30) skin tone.

Above: 'Pink Lust' applied on my bare lips.  Note, if you have dark pigment on the lips like I do, I recommend applying a little concealer or just cover your lips a bit with foundation before applying 'Pink Lust' on top to give a more even finish.  Of course, it's also great to layer 'Pink Lust' on top of your preferred lipstick of lip pencil to add dimension to the lips (especially on the centre).

The Lip Lacquer's texture is quite different to your typical lip gloss.  It has a very light, airy - almost 'whip' like, creamy texture and feels great on the lips - hydrating and similar to a lip balm. :)

There's a pleasant vanilla frosting type of scent, which is not overpowering at all to me.  I think it's delicious!  Hehe.  Actually, I don't notice it when it's on my lips.

Size: 15 ml / 0.5 fl.oz.

Cream Color for Eyes in 'Pink Haze' & 'Escapade'

These are my favourite items from the summer collection. :)

'Pink Haze' (above) is a warm "pink with peach tones and gold pearl".  It has a copper hue to it.  Very pretty! ^_^    This is not a pink shade that you need to be weary of on the eyes (I know some can make your eyes look redder, tired or ill!).  Instead, it is very flattering and gives a natural or subdued, yet rather sexy glow to the eyes.  ;)  In fact, once blended out as per the second photo below, it appears more peach (a warm neutral) than pink.  This is definitely a unique and much loved shade in my collection.
'Escapade' (above) is a warm "pearlised peach".  Nothing too special about this one - a lot of people will have something similar as it's a great "everyday shade" to have.  Those with warm or olive skin tones can also enjoy this to highlight the cheek bones and under the brow bone - and it just has the right texture for blending easily with fingers.  Definitely a great multi-purpose staple!

Like most people, I do gravitate towards cooler-toned eye shadows, but these are just right for me.  It's not too warm at all.

Both of these shades will suit most if not all skin tones and are great for everyday wear not just for summer.  Of course, the warm tones do make me yearn for summer and would be extremely flattering on olive or bronzed/tanned skin.

I found that the cream colours can easily be applied sheerly and also easily built up to full opacity.

I really love the lightweight, airy, whip-like texture of these cream colours.  It's like applying butter on your eye lids, and it lasts all day on me!  I highly recommend you get one or both of these before they are gone forever!!

Size: 0.21 g / 6g

Overall, I'm very impressed with this year's Tom Ford Summer Collection.  I think all the products I've purchased have nailed the brief.  Stunning and beautiful in texture and colours.  However, if I had to choose one, I would have to say the Cream Color for Eyes in 'Pink Haze'. ;)

Hope this was helpful.

Thanks for stopping by! ^_^ xo
