The new cream blushes have been released as part of Chanel's Fall/Autumn 2013 'Superstition' Collection, but no need to rush out to get these as they are permanent (save for 2 of the shades)!  Woot! ;)

"This innovative powder-cream formula offers an enticing new way to blush with sheer yet vibrant pigments for instant luminosity. The silky texture offers a long-wear satin finish—soft and comfortable for every skin type—and is simple to apply with fingertips or brush."

I purchased 2 of the currently 6 released shades: Révélation (63) and Fantastic (66).  The other shade I'm waiting to get a hold of is a pretty, medium, blue-toned pink (as if I didn't have enough already! Hehe), called Affinité (65).  The latter is currently unavailable across Australia and SAs currently don't have a date of its arrival. :-(

The 2 shades that are limited edition for the Fall/Autumn collection are Fantastic (66) and a coral, called Présage (62).
Révélation (63) is a medium, warm-toned rose shade that's suitable for most skin tones.  A great, natural, every day / staple shade.
Fantastic (66) is deep, pink berry shade that's also suitable for many skin tones.  A little goes a long way and can easily be adjusted for a natural, red-hued flush to the cheeks from the palest skin tones to the deepest by adding more layers.  .

Packaging
The cream blush is housed in the iconic black lacquer compact that's a little smaller than the Joues Contraste Powder Blush compacts (as seen in the comparison photo below).  Its smaller, lightweight packaging and mirror provided, make it convenient to carry and apply/touch up on the go.  Simple, classic, yet very practical.  Love it.  Like other Chanel compacts, these come in a black velvet pouch.

Swatches
The swatches below were photographed indoors under artificial lighting and using a strobe.  Swatches were applied on my medium, olive (~NC30) skin tone.
Size
2.5 g / 0.09 oz.  This is quite a small amount when compared with YSL cream blush's 5.5 g / 0.19 oz and Dior's Cheek Cream (review to come) in 7 g / 0.24 oz.

Scent
Sensitive noses will love the fact that these do not have any noticeable scent.

Texture & Application
If you touch the cream product in the pan, the warmth of your finger makes it feel and look creamy and emollient.  However, once you place it on your cheek and blend, the product becomes velvety-soft and smooths the skin's texture (feels a little silicone-like).  The consistency of the product is a little thicker than say the YSL cream blush.  There's no feeling of dewiness or tackiness and yet it blends like magic on the skin!  You needn't do much work at all with this product.  If I look closely at my cheeks, I can see the (excellent) pigment is spread across my skin very evenly.  There's no patchiness.  Definitely, one of the best textured cream blushes I've come across if not the best.

Finish
While Chanel describes the cream blushes to have a satin finish, to me, they look matte and natural on the skin.

Longevity
Due to its velvet finish and slightly thicker texture, I can feel it really cling to the skin much better than other cream blushes I've tried.  The product doesn't move around on the skin (like when I rest my face on my hand and accidentally wipe the blush).  This is the first cream blush that has lasted on my skin ALL day - even through til late evening with a little fading!  (Note, this is on my currently wintry dry skin, so it may not last as long for those with oily skin).  It's probably only one of two blushes I have that last all day on me (the other is Bobbi Brown's *Powder* Blush in Pale Pink).

Overall
Impressive.  Great pigment, easy to blend, and I mean, who would've thought a cream blush would last and last on the skin like this one does?  My only wishes would be that there was more product for the price, and perhaps a shade or two with a slightly shimmery finish to add more life/glow to my sometimes-sallow skin.  Who knows, they may just release more limited edition shades in future collections with a slightly different finish to join the permanent shades.  I'll be looking forward to more for sure. ;)  Meanwhile, I shall be waiting impatiently for the arrival of Affinité (65).  Go check these new cream blushes out!!!

Hope this was helpful.

Thanks for stopping by! ^_^ xo
