As soon as I received an email notification about when the Nars Guy Bourdin Fall/Autumn 2013 collection was arriving on Australian shores, I marked it in my diary. The collection is inspired by the late french fashion photographer Guy Bourdin whose works inspired Francois Nars to be a makeup artist. You can read more about the rather controversial photographer behind the collection HERE. For me, however, it is the range of uber, vivid colours attracted me to the collection along with a certain red lip-shaped makeup case that made me giddy with excitement. The collection was officially released 2 days ago (October 28th) at Mecca Cosmetica. I was there in-store, swatching away and decided to come home with a few goodies that excited me the most. Unfortunately, my most anticipated item from the collection - The Fling Lip Set shown in my Lust Must List post HERE, isn't available. *sheds tears* However, I'm still hoping this will come out at some stage soon! *fingers and toes crossed*. >_<
Anyway, below are plenty of happy snaps of my picks...fabulous red and black glossy box packing, no?

As you can see, I picked the uber bright magenta blush called Cœur Battant (translates from French to "beating heart" - the colour certainly makes my heart beat a lot faster!), their new Cinematic Lipsticks in Full Frontal (an edgy, vivid, rose violet) and Last Tango (a sophisticated, dusty rose nude). All three are limited edition. The Cinematic Lipsticks are a new formulation from Nars that delivers full coverage and glossy shine. They also contain Monoï butter and Vitamin E for a comfortable feel and help nourish the lips. Sounds good to me. ^_^

I was initially curious about the new Cinematic single eye shadow range that feel almost creamy to the touch. The colours in the pan attracted me - particularly, Wishful Thinking (a macaw blue), but wasn't fully convinced by their performance when swatched at the store. A little disappointing, but a huge relief for my wallet. ;)
Will share some of my thoughts and swatches on these products soon, so if you're interested, please stay tuned. :)
Thanks for stopping by! ^_^ xo
