SPRING 2014 CHANEL ILLUSION D'OMBRES (LONG WEAR LUMINOUS CREAM EYE SHADOWS) IN 'DIAPASON' 92 AND 'IMPULSION' 93

Two new shades of the Illusion D'Ombres are released for this year's spring "Collection Notes de Printemps" collection  These are 'Diapason' (92) and 'Impulsion' (93).
Diapason (92) is a luminous deep purple (new to the permanent line), and Impulsion (93) is a luminous pastel pink (limited edition).

In contrast to the very shimmery 'Impulsion' which is great for the inner half of the mobile eye lid, 'Diapason' has much less shimmer and adds beautiful depth and smokiness to the eyes when applied in the outer corner.  Note, the shimmers in these and all Illusion D'Ombres are ultra, ultra fine (not glitter!) and give an amazing sparkling effect to the eyes if applied sheerly, otherwise a metallic sheen when layered more heavily.

Texture-wise, Impulsion sticks to the finger a bit easier and thicker than Diapason.  Diapason needs a couple or so dabs/swipes with the finger for a more decent intensity, because of this (it goes on rather thinly and smoothly).  This is fine by me, because I prefer to build depth layer by layer than getting too much of it at once, but essentially, it doesn't take much time.  The texture is so easy to blend - anyone can do it with ridiculously little effort!

Comparison Swatches
Below are swatches of three Illusion D'Ombres in the purple family.  Illusoire has the most shimmer and is more silvery.  Fatale is more red toned and has a similar level of shimmers as Diapason.  Diapason also pairs nicely with Illusoire - the latter being more shimmery makes it great for the inner half of the mobile eye lid, while Diapason gives depth in the outer corner.  Gives a pretty, sexy, purple-toned smokey, evening look.

Verdict
I love both of these, I think they pair beautifully together.  As a big fan of these cream eye shadows, they're a must-have for me. :)
