Description & Inspiration
"A TWEED THAT BORROWS ITS GRAYS FROM A STORMY SKY
With this harmony, rediscover the audacity of a woman who successfully freed herself from conventions and redefined those of French elegance. Like her unisex first name, the Tissé Gabrielle harmony mixes androgynous shades. A palette of revisited classics for an unmatchedsmoky effect. Show off smoky eyes by applying a subtle blend of delicate gray and velvet black gray, an iridescent white gold and a grayish mauve."

Packaging
Packaging-wise, all is the same as its predecessor. A beautiful, simple, lightweight, sleek black lacquered compact.

Above: product description label on the bottom of the compact.

The compact has a mirror on the underside of the lid for and very good quality, smooth sponge applicators. While most people would normally not bother to use these, I personally find them rather useful and perfectly fit for these type of eye shadows. They pick up the product really well and deposit and place the pigment perfectly when using a patting/dabbing motion. You can also use them to blend out any edges with gentle swipes.  Otherwise, use your favourite brushes. ;-)

Colours & Finishes
The palette contains a very pale, champagne shimmery highlighter,  iridescent platinum grey, iridescent mauve taupe (my fave!), and a satin to iridescent deep taupe.  A universally flattering combination. :)

Swatches
Applied on tanned, olive skin (~NC35) and photographed indoors under artificial lighting using a strobe. These were swatched dry (with no primer, etc), using the sponge applicators provided and minimal number of swipes (2-3).
Comparison Swatches
As with Tissé Vénitien (232) [reviewed here], Tissé Gabrielle contains shades that are a lot like those of my all-time favourite eye shadow palette Ombres Perlées de Chanel Eyeshadow Palette - a limited edition from Chanel Spring 2011.  As shown in the swatches below, they are similar, but the Ombres Perlées de Chanel Eyeshadows are a smidgen brighter, lighter, and they're also quite different in texture - not baked and more creamy.
Above: take 2 with the sheen showing a little more.  Below: in low lighting to capture the iridescence.
Texture, Application & Longevity
I'm very impressed with the pigmentation of these reformulated eye shadows. I only need to go over the eye area once to get decent colour pay-off.  When applied, the colour stays true to what you see in the pan.  The texture is smooth, slightly creamy even (compared to the previous formula which was much dryer and even a bit coarser in texture and needed a damp brush to soften the product and to get better colour intensity).  In fact, it's so smooth, I could just as easily apply the eye shadows with a clean finger tip and apply it well!  It adheres to the skin and blends easily.  I experienced no fall-out during application.  The wear time is excellent.  Lasting from morning and through evening with hardly any fading on my normal (neither oily or dry) eye lid condition and without the use of eye primer.

RRP & Size
£40.00 for 2 g / 0.07 oz - a little more than the original Chanel quads, which weighed 1.2g / 0.04 oz.

Overall
This is probably my favourite smokey eye palette...ever.  It's so quick and easy to use yet the effect it gives appears as though a professional makeup artist has spent a long time perfecting it.  This variation of shades definitely is the epitome of Chanel.  Classic, chic, sophisticated and stylish.  Tissé Gabrielle is perfect if you want that Chanel-esque, Keira Knightley, smokey look that is slightly sultry yet very polished.  The iridescence, and the ultra-pretty nuances of purple/mauve and greys help to bring out your eyes (especially if you have brown and green eyes) and just prevent it from giving a pedestrian, one-dimensional look.  It's extremely flattering and I can't help but feel beautiful when I wear it (and that doesn't happen often...I'm even *almost* tempted to do a selfie ;-) ).  What can I say?  It's a must-have and a keeper.

Hope this was useful. :)

Thanks for looking. ^_^ xo
