Chanel 'Intemporel'is a new limited edition nail colour from the Les Intemporel de Chanel ("Timeless") Spring 2015 Collection. This nail colour is only one of two items in this small collection. The other is a beautiful five-colour eye shadow palette - reviewed here.
Colour & Finish
Intemporel is a silver with a metallic finish. I applied two coats on my nails in the photos below.
(For reference, I have medium, olive (~NC30) skin tone, and all photographs were taken indoors under artificial lighting and using a strobe).
Coverage, Consistency & Application
On the upside, Intemporel has excellent opacity. This is another one-coat wonder from Chanel. However, the consistency was a bit too thick for my liking, so application was a bit tricky to apply and spread evenly. It was also streaky, which may bother some people. Still, dry time is quite quick for a relatively thick consistency (granted I applied this during the heat of summer), which is generally great...but, does mean it's harder to go back and make any corrections and more attempts at making it all look even. So by the time I was done with trying to make it look perfect on my nails, I ended up applying two coats essentially! /:-\
All Chanel nail polishes are formaldehyde-free, toluene-free and DBP-free.
Longevity
I've been wearing Intemporel for seven days now and it is only showing minor tip wear, which is pretty excellent. So, it's consistent with most of the Chanel nail polishes I've tried in that respect!
Packaging
Chanel nail polishes come with a plastic, square cap which other than for aesthetic purposes, you can use to rest your finger tip on as you apply on the nail polish.
The applicator brush is thin, which is great for precise application and also suits all nail shapes and sizes as big, flat, square edged brushes may not work for those with more of a curved-shape at the cuticle ends and/or have smaller, narrower nails.
Size
13 ml / 0.4 fl.oz.
Overall
Intemporel was a lot less complex and interesting than what I'm used to from Chanel. Had I seen swatches of it before, I don't think I would have made the splurge. While I do appreciate metallic nail polishes, I initially found this silver a bit too much of a stark contrast against my skin tone. Hence, why I've never actually purchased anything quite like it before - so no comparison swatches were made. (The nearest shades I do have are swatched in this post). But, it is growing on me. ;) If you are a fan of silver metallic nail polishes, then you may have something similar already that applies easier and isn't as expensive! Long-wearing though from my experience.
