PIERRE HARDY FOR NARS - SHARKS NAIL POLISH PAIR

After being so thoroughly impressed by last year's Thakoon for Nars nail polish collection in terms of formulation and colours, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this year's Pierre Hardy for Nars Nail Polish Pairs Collection! (To see a sneak peak of my picks - click HERE).

Today's post is about one of my picks: 'Sharks'. It's a fun, nail polish pair of a soft, pale/baby yellow and a soft lavender. One of my favourite complementary colour pairings, and make for very, pretty pastel Easter egg (or yummy macaron ;-) ) colours! ^_^ The softness make them very wearable and a little less juvenile-looking to wear for spring/summer (particularly when worn separately).
Packaging
The duo nail polish come packaged in a very sturdy, sleek, white, signature mini Pierre Hardy "shoe" box and a dust bag. :) To see images of those, click HERE.
The nail polish bottles are square shaped and the cap/brush applicator handle are consistent with the rest of the Nars black packaging, which have that 'rubbery' texture. The brush itself is fairly thin for precise application.
On My Tips...
I decided to wear them both on alternate finger nails for fun.  ^_^  For reference, I have medium, olive (NC30) skin tone.  I used 2 coats of nail polish.
Application, Formula and Finish
The consistency of the nail polish formulation is not too thin or thick, and I found it levels itself very well on the nails when applied (great for when you want to just dab a "dot" of product onto any uneven patches).  While I needed to have a couple of tries at applying the yellow nail polish evenly, it turned out quite well!  I found the trick with the yellow polish is to use apply it gently with the brush flat on the nail bed with as little strokes or dragging motions as possible to avoid uneven/patchy finish.  The patting motion works well.  Overall, it's one of the best yellow nail polishes I've used (yellow nail polishes are notoriously difficult to apply!).  I had no trouble applying the lavender shade.  Both needed at least 2 coats (maybe 3 if you want to be thorough).

Both polishes have a lovely, cream finish. :)

These nail polishes apparently have "UV protection to prevent polish discolouration", and are toluene, formaldehyde and DBP free.

Wear
I found the longevity to be pretty good, with only very minor tip (barely noticeable) wear on the third day.  Otherwise, still going fairly strong on the fourth day, and can imagine it would probably last a week at this rate!

RRP & Size
US$29 / AU$39 for 0.5 fl. oz. / 15 ml or product.

Availability
Limited Edition.  Available now in Australia from Mecca Cosmetica.

Verdict
 Love. :)

Hope this was helpful.

Thanks for visiting! ^_^ xo
