IMATS / SYDNEY WEEKEND HAUL 2013

A couple of weeks ago, I went to Sydney for the weekend and since I moved, it's more convenient to get to!  Woot!  I caught up with family and of course, did some beauty shopping. ;)  I only went to IMATS for a few hours , but still managed to grab some exciting new goodies that caught my eye. :)  To see my previous years IMATS shopping expeditions, click 2011 and 2012.
(1) Hakuhodo soft makeup brush case in gold (the product code is Po810Sh). This is my favourite case to keep in my handbag. I first purchased it in last year's IMATS in metallic aqua shown HERE. I loved it so much and used it everyday since purchasing it that I bought another one, this time, in this gorgeous champagne colour!
(2) Hakuhodo G5518BkSL Highlight Brush (Round).  Can you believe it?  I managed to restrain myself to purchasing only ONE Hakuhodo brush this time round!  Haha!  Hallelujah.  I'd pat myself on the back, except...I did buy other brushes as you'll find out below. >_<

Lime Crime appeared for the first time in IMATS Sydney this year.  I have heard of this brand, but don't actually know anything about them!  I did notice the endless number of people flocking at their stall and so of course, I needed to find out what the fuss was all about.  (Apologies to Lime Crime fans of my ignorance. *blush* )  What I noticed was their array of super bold colours - very much out of my comfort zone, but I did spot a couple of amazing red lip products that I've been told will "stay put no matter what".  The packaging is quite cute - it reminds me of candy and makes me want to eat the stuff. ;)  I picked up:
(3) Lime Crime Velvetines in 'Red Velvet'
(4) Lime Crime Carousel Gloss in 'Candy Apple'

From the MAC stall, I picked up Christine's (from Temptalia.com) all time favourite makeup brush that I'd been keen to get for quite some time (and probably you and your dog would own!):
(5) MAC 239 Eye Shader Brush
I also picked up one of the foundations that many makeup artists love, which I've never tried (actually, it is my first ever foundation purchase from MAC):
(6) MAC Face and Body Foundation in the shade, C4.

Another much raved about tool that I have yet to try is the Beauty Blender, but since this wasn't sold at IMATS, I purchased the next best (much cheaper) thing:
(7) Beauty Pod
Will see how this goes. I figured it was so cheap, there's nothing to lose (plus, it felt like a really good quality for the price). ;)

Velour Lashes also featured for the first time in Sydney, which is one of the reasons I was so keen to go.  I've been wanting to try this brand out since I've heard so much about their mink lashes - esp. from watching my go-to YouTube lash expert RAEView.  I got to see their lashes in person, and purchased a couple of their range that were more on the natural side.  This suited me, as I rarely ever wear false lashes, mainly because I've found the ones I've tried so far have been a bit uncomfortable and heavy to wear.  I purchased:
(8) Got it from my Momma!
(9) You complete me
Hopefully, these will be far nicer!  Unfortunately, the ones I ordered were out of stock at IMATS, but they let me order them and they're currently in transit (hence, why I don't have the actual photos of them that I would normally have taken for this blog post!).  Can't wait to receive them in the next few days and try them out. ^_^

As I have in my previous years at IMATS, I just had to drop in at Rae Morris' stall (I've ranted about how much I love this talented makeup artist HERE and HERE).  To my surprise, she was there featuring her latest brush range that have yet to be officially released, but those at IMATS could pre-order!  Woohoo!!!  They looked and felt amazing.  Unfortunately, I don't have my own photos of the brushes, but below is the first and only one shared on her Facebook page!  I pre-ordered the following brushes individually (you can also purchase sets like the kabuki set shown in a box below):
 - Pro Powder (#22)
- Deluxe Round Shader (#7.5)
- Deluxe Pro Blender (#6)
- Ultimate Cheek-Bone (#3)
- Deluxe Kabuki (#1)
Most of the brushes have a magnetic end, so you can easily attach and secure them to any metal surface without the need for traditional brush containers or bags.
As they were being pre-ordered and will not available to be shipped until 6 weeks from IMATS, they had a 10% off at IMATS.  I'm sooo excited for these to arrive at my doorstep! >_<

That's pretty much all the shopping I did from IMATS. :)

Next up are my latest beauty acquisitions from Chanel.  Two of these were actually ordered a few weeks ago (and shipped to me) from the Vogue Fashion Night Out "Nuit Magique" limited and exclusive collection (inspired by the magical, shimmering night sky):
(10) Chanel Liquid Eyeliner Intensity Definition in 'Noir Scintillant' (#14) - a black with very subtle silver shimmers.
(11) Chanel Nail Colour in 'Magic' - a simple, yet beautiful midnight blue (crayola) with a "single-coat-wonder" cream finish.
(12) Chanel Nail Colour in 'Cosmic' - matches the liquid eyeliner - it's also a black with visible silver and subtle blue shimmers.  Lovely.
You may have seen me post a picture of the above products on Instagram recently. ;)

The other two Chanel items were purchased during my pitstop at the Sydney City Myer Chanel Makeup Studio.  These are from the new Le Blanc makeup line.  Note these appear to be only available in Australia and Asia at present and only at selected Chanel counters. Only in Sydney City Myer Chanel Makeup Studio for Australia for instance.
(13) Chanel Le Blanc Light Revealing Whitening Makeup Base SPF 30 in 'Mimosa' (#20).
(14) Chanel Le Blanc Light Mastering Whitening Compact Foundation SPF 25/PA+++ in 'B30 Beige - Sable'.  It would be interesting to find out how this range compares with the new Chanel Vitalumiere Compact Douceur.  I picked the former as the latter only has SPF 10.

Here are the rest of my beauty purchases:
(15) Tom Ford Noir Eau de Parfum - for le hubby (btw, this fragrance is actually unisex, too!).
(16) Burberry Fresh Glow Luminous Highlighting Powder in 'Nude Radiance' (No.01) from the Burberry 2013 Summer Splash Collection - inspired by "radiant days of British summer and the colour-saturated hues of Burberry runway collection".  Since I've moved to a place with colder climate (bah!), I've been obsessed with highlighter to help add life and dimension to my skin which has been very dull and dry of late.
(17) YSL La Laque Couture Nail Lacquer in #22 'Beige Leger', which is like a light beige rose or a light mauve taupe.  Loved this on my nails!  Simple, yet elegant.
(18) The new Shu Uemura S Curler - it is a mini size that allows you to curl even the shortest of lashes and avoids pinching due to the angle of the padding and lack of the original side-bars.  I really like this design, but my only gripe is that it takes longer for my to curl my lashes as I have to do it by section due to the smaller size.
(19) Estee Lauder Pure Color Illuminating Powder Gelee Blush in 'Tease' (01) - again, I wouldn't normally have purchased something like this previously, but it continues with my current highlighting obsession!  A blush and highlighter in one - how could I resist.  Also, I've seen raves about it from the gorgeous Zoella (does she not remind you of a young Elizabeth Taylor?!)  I was also given a sample of their latest fragrance 'Modern Muse'.
That weekend I also made my very first purchase of Jo Malone cologne.  The only other product I've tried and love from the brand is their Vitamin E Body Balm.  I love berries in fragrances, so I purchased the Blackberry & Bay 30 ml Cologne.  I always adore their complete packaging - so pretty!

Hope this was interesting! /:-\ :)

Thanks for stopping by! ^_^ xo
