Discrétion is a light pink with a neutral to warm undertone. Although the shade itself is soft, it has decent pigmentation and can easily be built up. Unlike the limited edition 'Star Dust' (from the 2012 Holiday Collection), which is much paler in comparison and has more visible shimmers in it, which makes it more appropriate as a highlighter (unless you have the palest of skin tones). Discrétion has very subtle shimmers - hardly noticeable on the skin compared to say, 'Star Dust' and 'Pink Explosion'. There are indeed lots of shimmers in Discrétion, but they are so minute, that the overall effect they give on the cheeks is a subtle, pretty glow. When first swatched and blended on my arm using my clean finger, Discrétion appears to blend into a very soft colour (see photo below), so I was worried it would be too pale for my medium, olive (~NC30) skin tone. However, I was wrong(!), and I'm very glad because this colour is so purdy! When I apply it on my cheeks, the colour shows up incredibly well and true to pan. It doesn't look ashy at all. It looks like a beautiful, natural, healthy flush of pink. ^_^ This is the second soft pink from Chanel that I've tried and love. The first is Le Blush Crème de Chanel in 'Inspiration' (#64), which I have been using almost everyday for the past month.
Texture & Application
Like with other Joues Contraste shades released since late last year, I found this particular Joues Contraste is very soft and does kick up quite a bit of powder in the compact if you use the supplied brush which is rather coarse. So, I recommend using a softer or finer bristled natural hair brush. (I use my all-time fave Suqqu Cheek Brush). I suspect they have changed the formulation of these baked powders as they used to be quite hard and the supplied brush was more suitable to this hard texture. Not that I mind of course, because I do prefer the softer powder for its ease of blending. :) Hopefully, they will offer softer brushes next time.
Swatches
Below are swatches applied on medium, olive (~NC30) skin tone. Photographed indoors using a strobe. I recommend trying on the cheeks to give the true effect of the colour as I found that on my arm, the pigment doesn't appear as well when blended out.

Below: swatches photographed in low lighting (without a strobe) in an attempt to capture the shimmers. As you can see, the shimmer is most evident in Pink Explosion and Star Dust, while more of a sheen is imparted with Espiègle in the photograph. In person, all the blushes below have subtle to more visible shimmer, save for Fleur de Lotus and Discrétion, which have more of a satin finish when blended out.

Verdict
Pink blush lovers will sure to fall in love with this one, especially if you love healthy, pretty, youthful, natural-looking cheeks ("blush"? What blush?!). Make sure you try it on your cheeks first and not just your hand/arm! This has become one of my favourites for sure and will no doubt be be a staple in my collection.
Availability
Limited Edition. Available now. This was one of 2 new blushes recently released in Australia and Europe along side the new Chanel Vitalumière Compact Douceur foundation range. The other blush is called 'Evocation' #85, which is permanent as far as I'm aware and is more of an earth-toned, neutral, almost bronzer type of blush.
