SWATCHFEST AND MINI REVIEW: MY PICKS FROM THE MAC STRENGTH COLLECTION

Here are my picks from the MAC Strength Collection, which was recently released here in Australia.  I took these swatches about 2 weeks ago and only managed to post them now (crazy busy lately!).  I only intended to get 'Taupe Shape' satin powder blush, but of course, having seen and tried the others in person, I couldn't resist picking them up!  Doh! ;-) The two uber bright lipsticks: 'Pink Pigeon' (hot pink) and 'Party Parrot' (pink coral) that I picked are re-promotes.  Although these are super-duper bright, I personally tend to use them sparingly on the lips for a sheerer finish, but still have that bright pop of colour without being too much.  I love that I don't have to work too hard to get a decent colour pay-off.  Both have the slightest satin/sheen finish.  The other satin blush powder I purchase is 'Poised' (muted peachy pink brown - depending on your skin tone it may look pinker if you have cooler skin tone, or more peachy if you have warmer skin tone).  It appears 'meh' in the pan, but once applied on the cheeks, it appears brighter and gives me natural-looking, sun-kissed cheeks.  Looks really lovely.  As for 'Taupe Shape' - let's just say I haven't stopped wearing this as a contouring powder since I bought it.  It has been my 'go-to' and probably my top pick or 'must-have' item from the collection.  :)

Enough said - here are the happy snaps, swatches and comparative swatches!  [All swatches applied on medium olive skin tone (~NC30); photographed indoors under artificial lighting and using a strobe].

Hope this was useful.
